Currently, our workshops are with five projects. GIT, After School Applied Improv club and Community Improv workshops - Beginner, Weekend Intensive Improv, Physical Impro with Sound and Ludus Ludius shows.

So if you are a pupil or teacher in a high school or secondary school then find out what the joy of improv can bring for your school and improvise playfulness.

If you are not from the school and wish to enquire about possible after-school clubs then
email us. Per child in the workshop the cost is generally two pounds (based on 20 - 30 children).

Pre-book Weekly Community Improv workshops
The journey has begun for some players, as they embark on this pathway to the unknown. Weekly Improvisation workshops @ Cathays Youth and Community Centre (36 Cathays Terrace, Cathays CF24 4HX). Pre-bookable for every week at 7pm Nathan Keates will be leading the Improv workshops that last 2 hours. These run in sets of 12 weeks and each set start one after the other. Thus making the impro weekly constantly.

The 'Improvisation: journey to the unknown' workshops are meant for all. Designed so absolute beginners can come and join in the jollities of improv. The workshops allow the players to explore the creatures and discover the enviroments, whilst finding their own spontaneity and creativity.

The run of workshops can end with the level one performance that will have invited audience of friends and family. (This performance is not compulsory.) Still pre-bookable for some impro at the Cathays Youth and Community Centre. These are usually two hours long. Get in touch now to make sure you can

Intensive Improv Weekend Workshops

The next Intensive weekend workshop is Saturday 13th June 09 to 14th June, starting at 10 AM till 4PM @ The Annexe, Ebenezer Chapel, Charles Street, Cardiff CF10 2GA. This workshop is suitable for beginners to improvisation and performance. To book click the button below:

We have three sets of these workshops, beginners, intermediates and advanced. We begin with the basics of improv through fun and playful games and exercises. We then move to Johnstone and Spolin approaches as we we look at other ways. For the advanced players, we explore formats and look at American improv, like Del Close, Halpern, Sills, Spolin and Napier. Exploring music, editing, and using lack of and busy in improv. Every workshop is different, so we can cover more or less than what's listed.

Physical Impro with Sound Workshops

To book onto the physical impro with sound workshop, book on via the email address. So email me and we can get improvising. Even theis form is with playfulness, inspired by Andrew Morrish, Al Wunder, Ruth Zaporah and the titles they list their work as; Solo Movement Improvisation with Text, Theatre of the Ordinary and Action Theater. Others than influence this workshop are Sten Rudstrom, Chris Johnstone, Kate Hilder and Amaara Raheem. We work on freeing our body and mind from the expectancy that we have. Working with restriction that allows us to be open to accepting how we move. Great for non-dancer and easier for non-dancers too. Brilliant for dancers, as their known is fantastic too see and even better when delving into the unknown. Using sound/words comes into this workshops too, and this is done through the same manner as movement. Book a one-off workshop today:
