Cardiff Improvisation Theatre Company
Street Jam
Our next Street Jam is TBC. A street jam is a group of people getting together in a public space playing and improvising. These are associated with flashmobs and street performances. Street jams are for all to play in and with, so you need no experience. Its just fun. We have played out bizarre statues, one word people and nearly bought a contract phone in Carphone Warehouse and we have played caricatures. Some jams have been more subtle than others.
Connecting Up
Theatre Artists and Improvisers connecting with Ludus Ludius is always what we want to hear, please get in touch and start discussions with us about possible connections with events or performances. What you are doing is always interesting to us. Current collaborations are with Improv UK (Wales) with Patrick Hanson facilitation of Theatresports. Also, with G.I.T we are connecting to universities. We have began discussions with Act One (Cardiff University). Everyman Theatre is connecting with a clubnight being run. London Acting and Improvisation Meetups have collaborated and hopefully still will keep a connection going.
Learning Difficulties and Improv
Currently Nathan Keates volunteers for a variety of groups and will soon be starting the journey to get people with learning difficulties involved with improvisation. At present, Nathan Keates runs improv play sessions and workshops at Cathays Youth and Community's Inclusive Youth Club. This is being done for free, however, it is a youth club and speaking to them first would be necessary if you wanted to join in. (As it is their event.)
Auditions
We are always looking for people to start improvising with us, so if you are interested then maybe you should come audition to become a member of the company.
The audition would be quite simple to see what experience you have and what skills you have, nothing too major and most certainly not scary. If you get in touch soon, then perhaps you can join in a rehearsal of a format instead. E-mail me if so.
