Ludus Ludius Improvisation Theatre Company creates theatre through improvised playfulness. Theatre is about spreading a message or a meaning in cultural and creative way, in whatever way that may be. Improvisation makes the creative energy become more raw and organic; a natural flavour to the improvised product. The spontaneity in everyone forces truthful assets to the meaning that displays more self honesty. We strive for self realisation through improvisation and exploration of collaborative creation.

    What Is Improv?

    Spontaneous, impulsive creativity.
    Improv is using the unknown to your advantage. Relying on the known to explore the unknown. Finding the unexpected and allowing the something to occur. Improv can be used in all forms of theatre, dance and music. We all improvise our everyday life. No one wakes up to read the script for the day. Everyone relies on the natural flow of their experiences to encounter the moments to come.


    What Is Play?

    Play is a spontaneous activity. It is a natural in-built activity that we do. Play is natural; it is organic. We cannot pre-plan what we are to do in order to play. Not only is play spontaneous, but it has to be of some kind of jollity. It also has to be in some seriousness. We learn and develop with play as children, even animals. Even to dominate. We play with our wit. Playfulness is the essense of play. To be playful is defined as being frolicsome according to online sources.
